Saratoga - day #2 (7/24) selections

Race #1
NOT A PEEP – fair effort first time out, may improve with that experience.TOUGH BUT FAIR – trainer doing quite well with first time starters this year…especially statebreds.IMTHEQUEENOFQUEENS – solid breeding for statebred, trainer good with these conditions.

Race #2
AUNT MARGE – statebred drops into 20k after showing speed in allowance condition, won by over 10 in the mud three back.CLASSY CONCERN – seeks third in a row versus similar company, “bug” boy sticks.GORETTY – six of nine in the money this year with five wins, fits good here.

Race #3
FAIR GAME – second best turf sprinting downstate, stretches out here.BETTER THAN SWISS – just missed last start, the one to beat in this group.BELLA CHEROKEE (Longshot) – rallied in last start, no early foot, blinkers on & bullet work at Aqueduct for today.DEPOSE THE CAT – (superfecta include) showed speed on sloppy track.

Race #4
PLETCHER entry – MARKET AT MIDDAY right behind COLLEGITE in debut, SMARTY MARTY a firster out of Smarty Jones.SIREN SERENADE – well bred Phipps / McGaughey runner, watch the board.VENADO – John Kimmel trainee may show speed from the inside for debut.

Race #5
KARAKORUM PLAYMATE – flashed speed on the weeds in last two, know some people with a share in this runner.FLIBBERJIBIT – strangely named runner is turf bred on both sides, owner likes to win.TEMPTEST STORM – the one to beat if switched to main track and it comes up sloppy.

Race #6
CALL ME TONY – honest as the day is long, this 7yr. gelding has finished in the money 40 times in 53 lifetime starts, six for eight on wet tracks too!VISIONAIRE – this classy three year old returns sprinting after facing graded competition this spring, may be pointing for bigger things.LOOSE LEAF – comes off Fall layoff and returns in sprint, won running two turns here last summer before being over matched in the Travers Stakes.

Race #7
GENTLE GALE entry– fits well in this turf sprint shipping in from the “left” coast, stablemate MTO.MOROCCAN AFFAIR – broke maiden much the best going a route at Suffolk in last, returns sprinting here.FOLLOW MY DREAM – statebred in the money 4 of 5 lifetime starts at the Spa, tries this distance for the first time.QUIET MEADOW – (superfecta include) broke maiden on sloppy track, blinkers on.

Race #8
DESERT PARTY – well bred runner from Darley Stable was much the best in Arlington debut, could be a good one.NOTONTHESAMEPAGE – got a 104 Beyer speed figure second time out breaking his maiden, bullet work for this.VINEYARD HAVEN – first time Bobby Frankel, watch the board.

Race #9
HAWKINSVILLE (Best bet) – comes off two “odds-on” wins at Suffolk, four for four on wet tracks.SOLID STRIKE – statebred drops into straight 20k, may get wake-up call here.FINAL STORY – just missed downstate at this level, but winless on wet tracks with a 2nd & two 3rds.SLADE – comes back at level of claim back in May, never out of the money on wet tracks.
