Saratoga - day #8 (7/31) selections

(18-67) $110.60

Race #1

Be Certain- a different horse since being switched to the jumps, won a restricted stake last time out.
The Price of Love – no factor 3rd in same race as above pick, never out of the money in all career jump races.
Dr. Bloomer – the definite class of the field.

Race #2

Fast Draw – this full brother to top star; Grand Slam ran well in career debut as the favorite, looking to bring back the “Lukas” glory.
Valiancy – second best in baby sprint at Churchill in debut, improves second start.
Tapit’s Brew – first timer from West Point Stable, watch the board.
Superfecta include: Gentleman Jeter

Race #3

Hatta Fort – rallied from the back of the pack when dropped to this level last start, been facing better previously.
Redefined – sharp efforts in last two just missing, winless at the Spa though in four career starts.
Around the Cape – goes out for new trainer today, steps back into optional claimer category.
Superfecta include: Siphon the Kitty

Race #4

Isn’t That Special (Best Bet) – just missed in last start going seven panels, bullet work at Aqueduct for this.
Key Trip – weakened after dueling on the lead versus slightly better, best of the rest here.
Lovely Wildcat – four straight 3rd place finishes puts her as third choice.
Superfecta include: Northern Rodes

Race #5

Better than Swiss – even 2nd going a route at Belmont in last, tries turf sprinting today.
Spa Princess – in factor in last after three straight runner-up spots, most likely ends up second again.
Lauren’s Go Go – tries the weeds today after nearly a year layoff.
Superfecta include: Linda’s Kisses

Race #6

Storming Off – drops into claimer off of allowance victory, could be a “red flag” on this one…proceed with caution.
Oldham – ships in from Churchill for new connections today, looking for first win on grass though.
Galaxy Tax – no factor versus cheaper as favorite in last, sharp Jersey circuit trainer.
Superfecta include: Eldoktori

Race #7

Encinas – much like Storming Off in previous race, drops from Woodbine stake race last Fall to this cheapest claimer on grass in NY, guess they’re not worried if this one’s claimed.
Ground Hero – had a win and a second last summer here in exact claiming level, surface & distance, the one to beat.
Brokerage House – good efforts last two in optional claiming company, sharp trainer.
Superfecta include: Looks Good Junic (Longshot)

Race #8

Pious Ashley – weakened in the mud last start in the Black Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico, experience factor going this route distance under her belt.
Spring Elusion – set the pace at this level last time out, held second safe.
Vanquished – wire to wire in maiden breaker at Delaware in last, the one to catch.
Superfecta include: Latest Scoop

Race #9

Ferocious Fires – winning streak was broken in return on the grass last start, this horse has issues with only third start in almost two years.
Stunt Man – comes off winter layoff and turns back in distance, race may set up for him or he may “need” this effort.
Market Psychology – always puts in a honest effort, may surprise here.

Race #10

Logic Way – just missed downstate at this level, sharp in only two starts this year.
Admiral Bird – finally won last start (first time in two years!) but, was questionablely D.Q.’d, will be coming late.
Senor Musician – ran through all his first level NY bred conditions so goes here and stretches out, gotten good lately.
Retribution – will take them as far as he can, speed…speed & more speed!
