Mark Hoffman's Saratoga selections - day #18 (8/12) Record (51-164) $336.80

Race #1

Riddle - chased the pace in last start versus grade III company over the hurdles, third start off long layoff.

Parker's Project - broke maiden on the open house card in wire to wire fashion, fits well in this wide open scramble.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Saluda Sam - Grantor

Race #2

Valiant Passion - a first time starter from Kentucky trainer who has monster stats with 2yr.old runners first time out, taking a "longshot" bomber in this spot.

Inflation Hedge - Klaravich / Violette first time starter sure to take money, connections well meant here.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Town Flirt - Shaaraat

Race #3

Point Gammon - a debut runner from freshman sire; Henny Hughes for Linda Rice, in for a tag first time out.

Smoke House - even effort in debut at Monmouth for a slightly high claiming tag, blinkers on today for New Jersey connections.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Hunt for Colleen - Kisses for Karen

Race #4

Sette E Mezzo - drops to the bottom level today coming off long layoff, last seen in grade I company on a sloppy track versus Summer Bird & Quality Road, something must have gone wrong with this runner.

Codeword - drops again with very light campaign the last two years, surprised off a layoff before scoring at 19-1.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Hangingbyathread - Little Dovefeather

Race #5

Green Bananas - even third at this level downstate going a mile, I would be shocked if this runner goes off anywhere near his 12-1 morning line odds.

Star of New York - consistent NY bred always gives a good account of himself, tries open company today.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Heritage Hall - Brazen Cat

Race #6

Smartie Bobbi - even effort at similar level downstate, showed front end speed two starts back.

Cranberry Queen - similar effort as uncoupled top choice with same Beyer speed figure, may I recommend a Angel Penna exacta box here?

Exotic & multi-race runners : The West Rim - Fleet Allaire

Race #7

King Andrew - drops off even effort last time out in starter allowance company, never been this low.

Auto City - the "Huge" guy first runner now at age 10 can STILL motor down the track, should be on or near the lead.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Brilliant Son - Moon Nistle

Race #8

In Your Dreams - rough trip last start on yielding turf here, makes amends today.

In Te Domine - sharp winner turf sprinting in last, shows two solid 2nd place finishes going a turf route distance.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Bretton Woods - Lindsay's Point

Race #9

Bridge to Nowhere - sharp victory when dropped to this level in last start as odds-on favorite, should be a big hit at the windows for some Amsterdam natives!

Always on the Move - just missed right behind top pick in last start, shortens up a bit here.

Exotic & multi-race runners : Wheelsareoffthebus - Shotgun Bandit

Race #10

Lights Out Lisa - just failed last time out at this level, contender here with this group.

Girl Bar - has faced tougher this year out-of-state, drops to a good spot.
