Hall of Famer – sharp victory turf sprinting vs. optional claiming non-winners of two, takes the next step.
Bright Illusion – even third in this condition last time out, one of many contenders here.
Quick Comeback – this statebred may take them wire to wire if let loose.

Race #2

Spaniard – the first of the Bob Baffert California shippers this meet, no factor in debut as odds-on favorite.
Mott (entry) – top trainer here last summer still looking for first victory this meet with either Tufao or Powercord both first time starters.
Blank Check – Pletcher firster with stretch-out breeding.
Superfecta include: Coach Gravy

Race #3

I’m So Lucky – John Ward saddles first runner of the meet which has been impressive last two starts, bullet works everywhere.
On Board Again – coming off nearly two year layoff, looked like a good one until issues came up, dangerous if returns to old form.
Sale Pending – drops into this optional claiming company, only one sprint race during that time.
Superfecta include: Japengo

Race #4

Lovely Isle – seeks third in a row, dangerous with easy lead.
Irish Smoke – second best in Monmouth stake last time out, two for two over the course.
More Happy – hasn’t been seen since finishing behind second choice 11 months ago, may need a race.
Superfecta include: Morakami

Race #5

Just as Well (Longshot) – taking a “flyer” here in very wide open tough turf race, tough post…but impressive first turf try.
Blazing Dynamo – would like this one better if they were going longer distance, no early foot.
Biggerbadderbetter – drops into optional claimer first time, even effort last time out.
Superfecta include: Ra Der Dean

Race #6

Cobre – goes out for former Pletcher assistant; Seth Benzel, just missed last time out & gets blinkers today.
Stoliatsiros – tries the weeds for dangerous combination Roddy Valente & Bruce Levine.
Bullstar – a firster from Jimmy Toner, watch the board.
Superfecta include: Pano’s Love

Race #7

Godolphin / Darley (entry) – prefer Numaany over Ea, preference was last seen in the UAE Derby & tries the weeds today, latter…not much on grass in some time but gets lasix first time.
Compromise – has disappointed in last three starts, the favorite again.
Hidden Glance – broke maiden at Kentucky Downs last Fall, fits well here.
Superfecta include: Just Julian

Race #8

Heather’s Angel – second best weakening late, she sticks out in this group.
Hangingonaprayer – broke through the gate last time & was a late scratch, stuck on the outside again.
Zip by You – got ran down late, key jockey switch today.
Superfecta include: Catty Madeline

Race #9

National Pride – Godolphin private purchase, makes belated three year old debut.
West Express – solid efforts last three in Kentucky, fits here.
He’s Solid Gold – even third last time out at this level.
Superfecta include: The Darp

Race #10

Indian Blessing (Best Bet) – couldn’t have found an easier field to meet, her race to lose.
J Z Warrior – solid winner of the Monmouth stake last time out, main danger to top pick.
Sweet Hope – another talented three year old filly from the Larry Jones barn, can she put the top pick away?

Race #11

Laurie’s Lion – turf to dirt, broke maiden here at a big price last year.
Chief Talkeetna – hasn’t been seen in over a year in a half, will Kimmel have this one ready to run?
Spider Rock – drops to easier spot after no factor first time in NY, blinkers on today.
Moonlight Gambler – broke maiden cheaply in the slop out of town, trainer new to the Spa.
