Saratoga - day #18 (8/11) selections

Race #1

Golden Glen – on class…this one sticks out, turf to dirt & drops into winning level, 24 for 51 in money lifetime.
Solid Strike – drops to straight claimers and also dirt, might be needed wake-up for this statebred.
Delta Sea – old timer has no early foot, can land a piece.
Superfecta include:Gold to Go

Race #2

Hope Street – sharp victory here in claimer last time out, retry of last Friday’s 4th race.
Earle’s First Girl – second best as the favorite last time out at this level downstate.
Trillian – sharp wire to wire maiden victory, DQ from purse money though.

Race #3

Tar Heel Mom – won for fun in maiden breaker downstate, will be tough to handle in this group.
Cool the Economy – hasn’t missed the board in eight straight tries, stablemate tries open company (City Spirit).
Shop It – drops into optional claimer for the “Chief”.

Race #4

Hellvelyn – European invader sports fine turf sprinting across the pond, gets lasix for American debut.
Rallying Cry – Godolphin color bearer weakend late in overnight stake similar to this one downstate, barn looking for first winner of the meet.
Salute the Count – proven commodity in these type races, 5 for 6 in the money this year…but still looking for first victory.
Superfecta include: Perfect Casting

Race #5

Smokin Hero – runner-up in last two, will be the “chalk” again.
Remarkable Storm – rallied behind runaway winner last time out at 25-1, connections make him a price again.
Hot Pace – from the Sackatoga connections who found the winners circle last Wednesday afternoon.
Superfecta include: Paramedic

Race #6

Valtrus – just missed last two starts at Churchill Downs, very sharp since trainer change.
Calcutta Clipper – broke maiden in impressively last time out at Presique Isle Downs on the Tapita surface, second best on grass two back.
Miracle Hill – won for new connections in opitional claimer last start, steps back up today.
Superfecta include: Austin Laviva Baby

Race #7

Early Response (Longshot) – trainer has good stats with these type of ruuners, taking a “flyer” here at a price.
Bitabaz – drops into maiden claimer after being no factor in debut, gets lasix today.
Shifty Guy – a first time starter from the “Chief”, watch the board.
Superfecta include: Mr. Petersson

Race #8

Smart Enuf – like the way this one broke his maiden last time out, doesn’t meet world beaters here.
Sammy’s Toy – second best last time out at this distance & company.
Piazza Di Spangna – rallied for third last time out at 30-1, exotic factor in this spot.

Race #9

Winning Point (Best Bet) – needed last race going out for new connections, returns sprinting today.
Boca Grande – my money maker from the Spa last year, comes off Fall layoff, may need a race.
Sumthingtotalkabt – out-of-town invader goes turf to dirt, may get over looked in the betting here.

Race #10

Concorde’s Dance – first time starter from sharp connections, gets lasix for debut.
No Speed Limit – switches from polytrack to turf, bullet grass work for grass debut.
Closing Speed – Canadian connections debut this one with decent turf breeding, two wins & a third with four starters this meet.
Debbie H – Zayat Stables send this one trained by Dale Romans whose’s son Jake could be the “next big thing”.
