Saratoga - day #13 (8/6) selections

Race #1

Hard Moonshine – rallied in the slop off of trainer change sprinting last time out, gets the slight call in paceless race.
Fly the North Wind – second best in last two at this level, this statebred is 9 for 16 in the money.
Sacrifice Bunt – faced better throughout career; but only shows maiden victory, another with little early speed.

Race #2

Coastal Flare – just missed last time out, best effort yet from this Frankel runner.
Exchanging Kisses – runner-up three straight times turf sprinting, maybe the route distance is the trick today.
Tanganyika – drops into maiden claimer after being outrun going longer, disappointing for this major purchase.
Superfecta include: Westward Go

Race #3

Strand of Gold – failed as favorite in last two; but gets major jockey change to the newest Hall of Famer; Edgar Prado, tries sprinting today.
Spirtual Spirits – Philadelphia Park shipper has shown even tries her last few races, turns back in distance today.
Quiet Mover – turf to dirt and drops once again, her trainer is a new face here & doing quite well.

Race #4

Good Request – Frankel runner just missed in last two & gets far outside post today, could be a “money burner” proceed with extreme caution.
Sol a Pino – rallied going shorter at Arlington last time out as the favorite, should enjoy the extra distance.
Schopenhauer – European import goes out first time for Graham Motion, watch the board.

Race #5

Thats a Good Thing – broke maiden in last; but was DQ after dropping from maiden special weights, steps back up a bit in class.
Midtown Bailey – connections scored with maiden claimer two year old earlier in the meet, taking a chance again.
Yes I’m Clever – debuts for good “first out” trainer Stanley Hough.
Superfecta include: Frosty Diamond

Race #6

El Tamberito – second four times in five starts, only off-the-board effort on the grass, gets the job done today.
Driven by Success – trainer switch today to Bruce Levine off of winter layoff, returns to sprint.
Afrikaner – rallied well after slow start in debut, best of the rest.
Superfecta include: Narration

Race #7

Winthrop House – rallied in debut downstate, improves with experience today.
Speed Limit – Overbrook / Pletcher firster, could be a good one.
Kensei – Asmussen baby, nice two year old maiden race.
Superfecta include: They’re Late

Race #8

Tourism – returns to turf after failed dirt effort, game win in debut.
Nehantic Kat – statebred has had good efforts versus own kind, faces open company today.
Follow My Dream (Longshot) – a kinda “horse for the course” with a win, two seconds & a third in five lifetime starts at the Spa, trainer usually gets a victory up here.
Superfecta include: Quiet Alice

Race #9

Cannonball – been facing tougher open company three year olds on the turf, class of the field.
Brookhaven’s Money – tries grass for the first time, sharp effort two back.
Phobia – showed speed last time out turf sprinting, the one to catch?

Race #10

Iron Curtain (Best Bet) – towers over this group off of form.
Hawkwood – top choice if race comes off grass.
Too Tough Pete – tries the weeds for the first time.
Superfecta includes: Please Impress & Jelly Roll Rumble.
