Saratoga - day #11 (8/3) selections

(28-98) $173.60

Race #1

Diverse – comment line was “slowly gaining” last time out at a mile as even money favorite, gets an extra sixteenth in same class today.
Impressionism – weakened late going longer downstate in last, solid money placing record.
Cable – overcame trouble twice in debut victory at 5-1, could become a good one.
Superfecta include: Locata

Race #2

Miss Bodine – just missed in debut as odds-on favorite, meets really small group.
Abigail’s Gold – Dominguez aboard this Pletcher firster, may like longer distance in the future.
Wickedly Spicey – Asmussen filly bred for speed on both sides.

Race #3

Sightseeing – one of the more disappointing McGaughey / Phipps runners, hasn’t run back to his Peter Pan Stakes win last May, couldn’t get an easier group today.
Past the Point – ran a good 2nd here last summer in restricted three year old stake, goes back to dirt today after turf & polytrack efforts.
Smokeyjonessutton – second best behind Mambo in Seattle last time out at Churchill, figures in the exotics.

Race #4

Rereadthefootnotes – cleverly named first time starter from West Point Thoroughbreds & Kiaran McLaughlin.
Rubinstein – debuts for trainer with good stats two year old runners and first time starters.
JT Moore – his trainer is also good with debut runners, especially the youngsters.

Race #5

Gloss – even second in the slop last time out, must overcome outside post though.
Righteous Tiger – two starts back set the pace going this route distance, may lead the way.
Due to Get Even – turf to dirt for the Contessa barn, best of the rest in my opinion.
Superfecta include: Forest Echoes

Race #6

Phi Beta Mom – weakened late downstate turf sprinting, may get a jump on them here.
Lunar Beach – chased around the track 2nd going a mile in maiden claimer, steps up & shortens up here.
Live Life Outloud – Pletcher firster with stablemate MTO.
Superfecta include: Dark Sky

Race #7

Sugarless – main track only pick if race comes off the grass.
Survived – scratched from similar spot with race came off the turf, most talented of this group.
Anxiety – drops into claimer after dull effort in last start, two previous were sharp.
Superfecta includes: Melissa’s Dream & Classic Marilyn

Race #8

Sorority Sister – statebred drops into non-winners of two lifetime, gotta choose someone in “headbanger” of race.
Galluscio entry – either Demaliat or Maggie’s Miracle are lightly raced, only one goes though.
Crazy Thing – looks like the “cheap” speed shipper.

Race #9

Red Giant – had a solid record last year as a three year old, makes seasonal debut in a tough spot.
Distorted Reality (Longshot) – won a restricted stake going longer at Belmont last start, always gives his best.
Cosmonaut – the “class “of this field, would be no surprise if he took it all.
Superfecta include: Prince Rahy

Race #10

Dulcet Tone (Best Bet) – broke maiden impressively, takes the next step.
Overandabeauty – been facing better this year, gets blinkers on.
Nursery Rhyme – never out-of-the-money in all seven lifetime starts.
Superfecta include: Elope

Race #11

Motion (entry)Condamine weakened late in turf debut, stablemate MTO ….so covering my bases if race comes off turf.
Nickel Pickle – woke up turf sprinting in last start at huge price, stretches out his speed today.
Bartletts – tries the weeds today, Ok if they switch to dirt.
Hint – a firster from crafty local trainer, will be a big price.

Haskell Stakes Selections

Nistle’s Crunch – turf to dirt and taken to upset the field.
Atoned – right where he like to run….second place.
Cool Coal Man – Zito’s only hope for the Travers???
