Saratoga - day #29 (8/24) selections

Race #1

Abby Morgan (Best Bet) – has a 1st & 2nd over the track this year, claimed in last race by top connections, back in allowance conditions today.
Weekwee – followed up maiden victory with good 2nd place finish in optional claimer, Samyn’s only winner for the meet.
Pennylove – hasn’t been seen since last Fall, broke maiden here impressive last summer.

Race #2

Splash of Color / Crosswater (entry) – with the Pletcher entry you get one who raced evenly after rough beginning in debut & runner who comes off long layoff.
Nuture – stumbled badly at start in last losing all chance, finished nicely for a distant 3rd though.
Influenced – led the way here in dirt route debut only to tire, tries sprinting today.
Savers: Lady Rapper & Queenofalldiamonds

Race #3

Jazz Nation – sharp victory here on a sloppy track opening day, lost one turf try by a neck.
Hatta Fort – very disappointing in last three starts, won’t find an easier group than this to face.
Not Acclaim – a specialist at this distance & surface (15 times in the money with 9 wins) trainer dangerous with shippers.

Race #4

True Resurgence – game 2nd versus similar, can sit the trip again.
Chris Got Even – comes out of restricted overnight stake for straight 3yr.olds, fits well here.
Marina Market (Longshot) – will take them as far as he can for Dr.Paul and the “Pie” man.

Race #5

Breathtaking – no factor in off-the-turf event debut, may get a price on her in this spot.
It’s Not for Love – throw out last race on dirt, had clear lead three consecutive races and got caught in all three, maybe gets the job done today.
Granny Apple – a firster from the “cold” Jimmy Toner barn, watch the board.
Superfecta include: Gipsy Lore

Race #6

Pumpkin Shell – clear 2nd in debut to run away winner; Miss Ocean City, third place finisher in that race has come back to win, “key” race.
Heavenly Vision –a firster from Bob Baffert that may take ALL the money.
Cheering – first time starter from the “Black & Cherry Cap” connections, may need this effort.
Superfecta includes: Amazon Lily & Shine Softly

Race #7

Waytotheleft – rallied after rough beginning in last, runner-up in the condition and faces the same today.
Mine Or Who’s – right behind top selection in last with similar problems as top pick in race.
Megadeed – rallied late in downstate turf try, can get a piece.

Race #8

Dancingcolors – rallied in turf sprint over the course in last, needs clean trip.
Paracaidas – well bred turf first time starter, watch the board.
Sobee – another well bred turf runner going out for the always dangerous Jonathan Sheppard.
Superfecta include: Tenacious

Race #9

Follow My Dream – rallied late in this condition last time out, “horse for the course” (4 for 6 in-the-money here), “upset” special!
Tourism – back to turf for McGaughey, nice turf debut two starts back.
Belle’s Home – even 2nd over the track, many of this group had a shot.


Race #10

Sugar Swirl – has won four out of five this year and has four victories in six starts at 7 panels, looks tough here.
Mistical Plan – this four year old filly has had a whirlwind tour of the country (seven different tracks in her career) impressive winner of the Princess Rooney last out at Calder.
Baron Thatcher – might not have cared for the muddy track in last, a exotic must!
Superfecta include: Intangaroo

Race #11

Here Comes Rita – sharp maiden here over the track, right back versus theses.
Mandy’s Purse – comes off long layoff for Clement, may need a race.
Can She Dance – throw out last on main track, previous two on grass were good.
Exonerated – rallied turf sprinting in last, will enjoy the added distance.
