Saratoga - day #24 (8/18) selections

(58-220) $370.30

Race #1

Know the Game – gets the timid call here in the very ordinary group of “Aqueduct” like type runners, even 3rd over the track.
Last Tram – no factor in off-the-turf try at this same level, trainer having very surprising great meet.
Windication – turf to dirt after no factor effort versus richer in last, better at the “Flakes”.

Race #2

Tall Poppi – exits “key” statebred maiden race where both Cribnote & Remarkable Storm have won here, 3rd behind those two mention.
Freudian Storm – first time starter from Gary Contessa & Winning Move Stable, bullet works up here.
Aoja – good 2nd behind Rereadthefootnotes in debut, barn not noted with 2yr.old stock though.

Race #3

Lorccan – rallied at this level last time out, gets the slight call here in this rather weak statebred test.
Successful Affair – a few years back this horse was the “king” of Aqueduct’s Inner-track, may have lost a step & drops to lowest level in memory.
Raffit – finished behind Lorccan in that mile & half race at Belmont in May, once was good…but hasn’t shown much this year.

Race #4

More Than a Reason – trainer change to the “now” dangerous John Fahey III, was sharp at Mountaineer Park earlier this year.
Law N Dora – drops into claimer for the first time, ran better here in NY than out of town.
Yelt – tired for 3rd as even money favorite last time out at this level, cuts back a panel today.

Race #5

Titan of Industry – drops to this non-winners of two claimer after setting the pace versus richer, class edge here.
Big Wig – rallied on yielding course last start as the favorite, should make presence felt.
The Cuban Hawk – led the way in off-the-turf event only to weakened late, an exotic factor ONLY! Record 0 for 9 on the turf & 1 for 14 lifetime.
Superfecta include: Ready or Not

Race #6

Ahvee’s Destiny – gets the slimmest of calls here in very evenly match & tough running of the Mechanicville overnight stake, several here got a legitimate shot to win.
Silver Timber – been waiting for this one to run back all meet, two for three over this course & three of six going this distance.
Redefined – solid wire to wire victory going this distance here, the one to catch?
Superfecta includes: Metro Meteor & Five Towns

Race #7

Marie Rossa (Longshot) – sharp victory first time stateside, meets no world beaters here.
Sweet Ransom – a lot of 2nd place finishes on her record, adds another today.
Country Star – the much over “hyped” two year old of last year…now three, I’ll try every day to BEAT odds-on horses like her.

Race #8

Chief Operator – needs to draw into the race, sharpest of this group if he races.
Bishop’s Back –three solid turf tries most recently, jock & trainer low % though.
Mr. Sam I Am – just missed going a mile last time out, lots of chances for this one & trainer STILL looking for first win here this meet.
Superfecta include: Intuition Magic or Sense of Speed

Race #9

By the Light (Best Bet) – her only lifetime defeat was last time out versus Indian Blessing in the mud, other than that…spotless.
Light Tactic – broke maiden here impressively last summer, hasn’t been seen since last winter though.
Salt Water Reign – back versus statebreds where she’s at her best, bullet works at Delaware for this.
Superfecta include: Sweet Lorena

Race #10

Unity – showed speed in all his turf tries, maybe “out guns them” today.
Dr. Decter – Tagg firster for Lael Stable, may take “late” money.
Fort McCoy – tries the weeds today for Linda Rice, watch the board.
Five Boroughs – Kentucky connections sent out this statebred first time, may be a square price.

The “WmH Double Feature” 2-3 double play

Gold Prospect (2nd) with Lorccan (3rd)
